In the centenary of the great Italian composer Giacomo Puccini’s death, Peterborough Opera will be performing a concert of his wonderful music this coming April.
In preparation for this concert, Peterborough Opera is delighted to be participating in a masterclass with world-class opera tenor, Bonaventura Bottone! Mr Bottone trained at the Royal Academy of Music and has performed at many of the world’s leading opera houses, such as the Royal Opera House, Opéra National de Paris, and Metropolitan Opera. Peterborough Opera’s new Musical Director, Jingle Gawley, who organised the masterclass says ‘The company is thrilled to have the renowned tenor Bonaventura Bottone, who will give a singing masterclass exclusively to our company members. We are looking forward to this opportunity where we will learn so much from Mr Bottone’s breadth of knowledge and experience. We will be presenting these works by Puccini in our upcoming concerts.’
The April concerts will feature arias and chorus numbers from some of Puccini’s most loved operas, including La Boheme, Tosca, Turandot and Madame Butterfly. Directed by their Musical Director, Jingle Gawley, Peterborough Opera will be performing at St Peter’s Church, Oundle on Saturday 27th April (7pm) and St Andrew’s United Reformed Church, Peterborough on Sunday 28th April (2.30pm). Tickets are £12 (adults) and £5 (under 19s) and will be available on the door.
